DESCRIPTION:
Ideally, your board will be well-rounded, inspired, and working toward your organization's mission in partnership with staff and volunteers. Achieving this ideal scenario takes work and commitment on both sides, but it is very possible. Your board members likely understand their legal, financial, and leadership roles, but are they helping with fundraising and outreach? Do you feel confident that you have made the most of their skills, expertise, and time? In this session, we’ll cover how to get the support you need from your board and lead them to re-engage with your mission, understand their role, turn up to meetings, help at events, do outreach, and even fundraise. The session will include the best practical tools you can use to implement changes and new ideas right away. Board engagement is a major issue for nonprofits and board members. Using the right mix of skills, tools, and training can help garner support from board members for fundraising and marketing.
WHO SHOULD JOIN:
This session is ideal for seasoned professionals or relatively new to board development nonprofit professionals. It is recommended that, if possible, staff and board members attend together.
