Initiatives
One Valley Community Foundation is the nonprofit organization that identifies and addresses the priorities and concerns of the Gallatin Valley. We design all of our initiatives with the intent of making the greatest positive change while also helping maintain what makes Gallatin Valley’s communities unique.
Nonprofit Initiatives
One Valley Community Foundation is proud to offer learning opportunities and other resources for area nonprofits. We host recurring and occasional programs designed to help nonprofit staff members, volunteers, and board members connect and receive the information they need to help achieve their goals.
Give Big Gallatin Valley
Give Big Gallatin Valley, the largest giving day in the state of Montana is a 24-hour celebration of giving that has supported 425 local nonprofits since 2015! The unrestricted funds this event raises for Gallatin County nonprofits help provide critical resources to support their missions. In just nine years, our community has raised $14.3 million through 82,589 gifts for local nonprofits supporting arts, housing, conservation, youth, veterans, seniors, animals, and more.
Nonprofit Cafe
Nonprofit Café is a free educational and collaborative gathering for nonprofit staff and board members. On the fourth Friday of each month, One Valley Community Foundation curates a speaker and presentation that will benefit the nonprofit sector. These presentations connect attendees with beneficial resources, keep them up to date about sector trends and, most importantly, facilitate an atmosphere of collaboration and support in the local nonprofit community.
Regional Housing Initiatives
At the One Valley Community Foundation, we know that regional challenges need regional solutions. As our community continues to grow, residents throughout Gallatin County face challenges that include growing housing costs, a lack of housing options and an expanding gap between growing housing prices and slower wage growth. One Valley Community Foundation is focused on thoughtfully addressing the challenges of accessible and affordable housing, knowing that our rapidly increasing local cost of living is having an impact on the social, emotional and economic fabric of our region.
Regional Housing Coalition
The Regional Housing Coalition is a project of the One Valley Community Foundation that brings together diverse public and private partners to accelerate solutions to housing needs in Gallatin County. The RHC will examine policy and advocacy opportunities at local and state levels to expand possible housing solutions.
Community Engagement Initiatives
One Valley’s mission is to connect people who care to causes that matter to them and our community. One way that we do this is by identifying and addressing the priorities and concerns of the Gallatin Valley. We act as a facilitator of change by creating opportunities for community members to take a seat at the table for those larger county-wide conversations.
A Seat at the Table
A Seat at the Table is a proven civic engagement initiative that activates community members to engage in local decision-making. At our inaugural event in 2018, 74% of participants said that housing was the most pressing need in our county. We intentionally designed A Seat at the Table 2021 to focus conversations and data gathering on housing affordability and attainability for those who live, work, and do business in Gallatin County.
