Bridger Foothills Fire Relief Fund Created to Address Immediate Needs
In response to the crisis, three entities jointly launch fire relief fund to address the pressing needs of those impacted by the Bridger Foothills Fire.
On September 6, 2020 the Bridger Foothills Fire Relief Fund was launched to rapidly mobilize financial resources to meet the needs of individuals, families, and agencies impacted by the Bridger Foothills Fire. The creation of the Fund is a joint effort between the Southwest Montana Community Organizations Active in Disaster (SWMT COAD), Greater Gallatin United Way and One Valley Community Foundation (formerly known as Bozeman Area Community Foundation) to streamline financial support and direct it to people affected by the fire who need funding most and the agencies supporting them.
Those wishing to help people and organizations impacted by the Bridger Foothills Fire are encouraged to donate to this COAD endorsed Bridger Foothills Fire Relief Fund.
“Our community is amazing and the desire to help our neighbors in need is immediate,” said Bridget Wilkinson, Executive Director of One Valley Community Foundation. “Even before the fires threatened homes, offers of housing, food and animal shelter were rolling in. We are honored to partner with Greater Gallatin United Way to support our community in response to the Bridger Foothills Fire. Those who have lost everything will need our help and this fund will allow us to help provide for them now as they rebuild.”
As the situation evolves, the joint Fire Relief Fund may shift or expand to best serve the region throughout the crisis and recovery.
“Our organizations are actively working with community leaders, local government, and emergency management officials to monitor and respond to the immediate and evolving needs of the region resulting from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and now, the Bridger Foothills Fire,” said Danica Jamison President & CEO of Greater Gallatin United Way. “Our joint Bridger Foothills Fire Relief Fund will provide funding for critical needs for our most vulnerable residents.”
