Do you think housing is an issue in Gallatin County? Let's talk solutions.

The One Valley Community Foundation will be hosting our second A Seat at the Table initiative on Thursday, October 14th - transformational conversations about housing solutions in Gallatin County. We need your voice at the table for the largest community conversation in Gallatin County.

At our inaugural event in 2018, 74% of participants said that housing is the most pressing need in our county. We have intentionally designed A Seat at the Table 2021 to be responsive to that concern and focus conversations and data gathering on housing for those who live, work, and do business in Gallatin County. On October 14th, thousands of community members across Gallatin County will come together to share and learn from each other on this topic. Will you join us in hosting or attending a virtual or in-person table?

What is A Seat at the Table?

A Seat at the Table is a proven civic engagement initiative that inspires community members to engage in local decision-making by:

  • Gathering: During A Seat at the Table, people across Gallatin County invite 6-8 friends, neighbors, volunteers or clients to a gathering of their choice anytime between October 14th - 31st.

  • Talking: Over a virtual or in-person conversation, community members will discuss their housing needs and ideas for solutions that apply to their own lived experiences.

  • Sharing: Participants then share with us what they discussed by responding to a short questionnaire that will be available in both English and Spanish.

  • Advocating for Action: Data compiled from A Seat at the Table conversations will then be shared with our community members and leaders to turn ideas into action.

We Need Your Help

A Seat at the Table is an opportunity to connect with community members, learn from their experiences, create solutions and amplify your voice to city and county leaders. Here are four ways you can get involved in this year’s largest county-wide community conversation:
